What's on offer?
Bridging Skills for Working Lives is a half-day interactive event (approx. 3–4 hours) designed to introduce young people to the strategic card game bridge as a tool for developing workplace-relevant skills.
What's it about?
Learning the basics of the card game bridge and relating the skills learnt at the bridge table to the world of work.
Open to:
This event is suitable for young people aged 11–26, as well as educators, parents, and community stakeholders interested in innovative approaches to career preparation and skill development. There is no cost to attend, and light refreshments will be provided. Travel bursaries are also available!
Of particular interest to:
This event will be of particular interest to young people who love playing games – especially strategy games – and learning new skills.
It has been specifically designed for young people who are curious about career development or actively preparing for their future careers (if closer to school leaving age).
Bridge teaches you to work closely with a partner, think several moves ahead, make decisions with limited information and stay focused under pressure - all skills that are also incredibly useful in the workplace.
You don't need any card game experience – we’ll teach you from scratch.
Join us for a fun day of games and career development in Glasgow!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
