Discover how to hand-build your own set of three ceramic tea-light holders in this engaging workshop. Over three hours, I’ll guide you through the enjoyable process of creating a unique vessel from clay.
In this hands-on activity, I will demonstrate essential techniques and provide support as you learn:
- Getting comfortable with clay properties and preparation.
- Using pinching and coiling techniques to build your holders form.
- Methods for securely joining clay sections and achieving a smooth surface.
- Tips for carving and cutting into clay and refining your unique designs.
This workshop is perfectly suited for individuals new to ceramics who want to learn the basics. However, those with previous clay experience looking to practise their hand-building skills are also very welcome.
All clay, tools, and necessary equipment for the activity are provided. We will start with a practice ball of clay to get a feel for the material before beginning our holders.
After the workshop, I will handle the finishing touches for you – applying my shimmer white glaze and firing your creation.
Additional Dates: 22 November 2025
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
