Allow me to introduce you to the wonderful ways of casting with Jesmonite!
In this 2.5 hour workshop I’ll guide you through the enjoyable process of Jesmonite casting, teaching you how to create a beautiful set of 4x Christmas Bauble decorations for you to take home.
We will be using Jesmonite AC100, a versatile water-based eco-resin that is a solvent-free, safe, and easy to use alternative to traditional resins, plaster, and concrete.
In this hands-on activity, I will demonstrate techniques and provide support as you learn:
How to mix and cast with Jesmonite using easy to source silicone moulds
How to pigment Jesmonite with your own choice of colours
How to cast 4x different finishes for your Christmas Bauble set - 1x plain colour, 1x marble effect, 1x inlay and 1x splatter effect
How to wet sand and finish your pieces
How to seal your pieces for longevity at home with your own seal-at-home kit to take away
This workshop is aimed at beginners so no previous experience working with Jesmonite is necessary. All materials and equipment are provided.
Workshop FAQs
What should I wear to the workshop?
Working with jesmonite can be a wee bit messy. I advise wearing something comfortable that you don’t mind getting dirty, avoiding anything with big sleeves that may get in the way. Bringing an apron with you is also a good idea. I advise removing any rings/watches/bracelets while working. Gloves and safety glasses will be available to use.
Can children attend the workshop?
Workshops are for ages 12 and up, and all under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you book a place on this workshop and can no longer attend, notify me with over two weeks notice to get a full refund. After that, refunds will only be given if the place can be filled. Places can also be transferred to family/friend by providing me with their name and email address.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
