Enjoy an hour of stories, silliness, and sketching with author and illustrator Ross Collins at the National Library of Scotland at Kelvin Hall as part of Book Week Scotland.

Author and illustrator Ross Collins brings the magic of storytelling alive with pictures. During this hour-long workshop, you will:
hear some silly stories,
find out how his books are made,
and best of all, learn how to draw Ross' characters!
This event is part of Book Week Scotland 2025. It is aimed at 5 to 8-year-olds and their families, but all are welcome to participate – there's no age limit on creativity!
Drawing materials and general silliness will be provided – all you need to bring is your imagination.
There will be a book signing after the workshop. A selection of Ross' books will be available to purchase on the day.
About the author
Ross Collins is a Glasgow based children's author and illustrator, with over 25 years' experience of crafting bestsellers such as 'There's a Bear on my Chair', and 'What Does an Anteater Eat?'. His most famous characters, Mouse and Bear, have recently been brought to life as puppets on stage! When not creating books, Ross enjoys precariously swinging backwards on chairs and running with scissors.
