This unique collection features both bespoke tailoring and bridal wear, created entirely from UK-sourced, biodegradable fabrics such as British-grown wool and linen, complemented by vintage silks, linens, and cottons from UK-based textile businesses.
At the heart of Clò An Tìr are three Glasgow-based heritage craft businesses: bespoke tailor Alis Le May, natural dyer Julia Billings, and micro weaving mill Vevar. Working together, they have crafted garments that weave the story of Camlachie - once a thriving weaving village in Glasgow’s East End.
The collection’s name, drawn from the Gaelic Cam Lòchaidh (“winding dark water”), pays tribute to the burn that still flows through the area today and to the Gaelic-speaking community that once flourished there. Rooted in the Gaelic concept of Dùthchas—a profound sense of belonging to place and responsibility to care for it—this project reflects a deep connection between craft, land, and heritage.
