Afrobeat icon Femi Kuti returns to the UK in 2026 with his latest album Journey Through Life. A powerful voice for justice, Femi continues the revolutionary Afrobeat tradition of using music as a tool for social change. His sound fuses funk, jazz, and highlife into a potent force, with lyrics that challenge corruption and inequality.
A Femi Kuti live show is a vibrant immersion into Lagos's New Africa Shrine-pulsating rhythms, commanding saxophone, and the spectacle of his band, The Positive Force, with dancers igniting the stage. It's political passion and joyous celebration intertwined, mirroring the Shrine's legendary Sunday nights.
Journey Through Life marks a new chapter, balancing sharp commentary with deeply personal reflections on family, growth, and resilience. From his beginnings in Fela's Egypt '80 to founding Positive Force in 1986, Femi has forged a unique Afrobeat style enriched with R&B, rock, and hip-hop, powered by his activism work.
