In 2005, the baths were saved from demolition by the Govanhill Baths Community Trust, a local community group. The Trust has been working to restore the baths to their former glory and to reopen them as a community hub.
The refurbishment of the baths is expected to be completed in 2023. The new baths will include a swimming pool, a fitness suite, a sauna, a steam room, and a variety of other facilities. They will also be home to a range of community services, such as a cafe, a library, and a community space.
The Govanhill Baths Community Trust is always looking for new partners and volunteers to help with the project. If you are interested in getting involved, please visit their website or contact them on social media.
