Pinkston is to Scotland's only artificial whitewater course, a flat water basin with bathing quality water, and meeting rooms and storage facilities for clubs and groups, Pinkston Watersports is an official Glasgow 2014 Legacy project and is operated by Glasgow Watersports Ltd, a registered Scottish charity run by a volunteer board of trustees.
Our aim is to increase public participation in watersports by promoting access to coaching, clubs and events. Pinkston also provides a unique venue for organisations looking for wet and dry facilities.
Our community includes the people local to the Pinkston area and the organisations that support them. We have a member of NG Homes, a local housing association, on our board, and the Pinkston Paddle Club, based at the centre, is run by workers from local youth clubs.
As a charity we receive funding from many sources, including the Scottish Government who provided £1.5m towards the cost of building Pinkston Watersports.
