Blues dancing is a collection of solo and partner dances that developed alongside, and is danced to, blues music. Like the music, it has its roots in African American culture and evolved from African rhythms and movements.
As it is a social dance form, it doesn't have complicated patterns and moves to learn; instead the focus is on connecting and responding to the music and your partner, with a strong element of self expression. So, if you enjoy listening to blues music, why not come along and learn to dance to it at Thursday Night Blues?
All our classes are suitable for beginners and seasoned dancers alike, and everyone learns to lead and follow, so you'll never have to wait around for a dance!
Join Thursday Night Blues and get your blues dancing fix at The Red Door Club or begin to learn how to dance it!
