Walkabout Bar on Renfield street plans to raise money for charity in the next few weeks by rallying the moustache enthusiasts of Glasgow and hosting several fantastic events as part of the bar’s support of Movember.
The biggest of these events will be the shave off on 30/10. It will see local superior mens hairdresser Men International of Oswald street Glasgow on site to shave in the participants moustaches from Walkabout cast members, Regulars and GCU students as Walkabout is the union bar.
Movember, a men’s health charity working to raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health issues, challenges men all over the world to grow a moustache for the 30 days of November. The charity originated in Melbourne, Australia in 2003 so is a fitting cause for the Australian bar chain to support.
Since 2003, Movember has had over 3million participants globally, raising £276million for charity.
Walkabout’s fundraising campaign will also see other great Movember events taking place at the venue throughout November prizes from Walkabout and Men International for ‘Mo of the Week’ / Movember team challenges / a Movember Finale Party
Walkabout is no stranger to raising money for good causes and over the last few years has raised funds for earthquake appeals, bushfire and flood charities and previous Movember campaigns.
Walkabout sales manager Johnpaul McMullen said: “The whole team is thrilled to be raising money for Movember this year. We’ve had great fun coming up with fundraising ideas and we are looking forward to seeing how much we can raise for this worthwhile cause.” And of course its fantastic that Men International are also involved with their guys giving up their time to help out.
He continued: “We have some brilliant events taking place at the bar over the next few weeks, so come and visit us and help us hit our fundraising target!”
