The Quay Glasgow welcomes retro cars ahead of movie premier
In celebration of the eagerly-awaited Scottish rave culture movie Beats, The Quay Glasgow will welcome some retro cars on site for the opening night of this coming of age film.

Reminiscent of the 1994 era of rave music, the following retro cars a 1978 Black Ford Capri 2.0 S, 1990 Ford Sierra rs Cosworth, 1984 Talbot Horizon and a 1989 Ford Capri 2.0 Laser will park up outside The Odeon Luxe for one night only on 17 May from 5.45pm.
A spokesperson for The Quay Glasgow said: “As we are the only cinema locally to display these retro cars, some of which are featured in the film, we are sure it will drive both car enthusiasts and underground eclectic rave music fans to our award-winning venue. The Quay not only offers the amazing ODEON Luxe reclining seats to enjoy the movie in comfort and luxury but also provides a great selection of restaurants, bars, casino and bowling for the ultimate entertainment experience every night of the week.”
Scottish rave culture movie Beats takes place in Scotland during the summer of 1994, with many scenes filmed across Glasgow it follows the story of soon to be separated best pals 'Johnno' and 'Spanner', who have grown up together on a housing project in the West Lothian area. They decide to spend their last summer together living it up at an illegal rave as part of the wider setting of the UK's massive counter-cultural youth movement, prior to the arrival of new legislation across the country outlawing raves.
