Calling all Glasgow foodies... EVOO has opened in Cowcaddens

Glasgow's newest addition to its vibrant foodie scene, EVOO Mediterranean Bites + Sips has just opened in the heart of the city centre.

EVOO stands for Extra Virgin Olive Oil and as the name suggests, there’s a fine selection of bespoke infused olive oils to dip and drizzle over your favourite dishes.

Nestled at the top of Cowcaddens Road, opposite The Theatre Royal, with its Mediterranean inspired menu, EVOO takes you from brunch to dinner offering customers small plates to share and nibble. Supporting Scottish suppliers, their dairy comes from Ballantines in Uddingston, eggs from Auchtralure farm in Stranraer, meats from ABR in Bearsden and stunning seafood from The Fish People.

Brunch plates include apple ricotta pancakes, smashed avocado toast, baked eggs with shakshuka, merguez sausages amongst other morning treats. As the day goes on, it’s recommended to pick a few small plates to nibble on, from roast sea bass with asparagus, grilled langoustines with ‘nduja, smoky chorizo stew to charred aubergine parmigiana or courgette trifolati. There’s a little something for everyone as the menu includes vegan, veggie and gluten free options.

Wake-up with a fresh morning coffee, sip a gin perfect serve with big chunks of ice, a refreshing cocktail, a cold beer from Spain, Italy or Greece or your favourite San Pellegrino, the bar is stocked up with plenty of drinks to see customers through from morning to night and if you can’t stop, there’s takeaway. When the weather picks up, there’s plenty of outdoor seats area to enjoy an alfresco drink or nibble in the sun.

Having already suitably whet the appetites of local foodies and beyond, with a sneak peek of the dishes on social media, the eagerly anticipated VIP launch event will be shortly taking place, date to be revealed imminently. Local businesses, bloggers, press and suppliers will be invited along to sample the dishes and enjoy a few cocktails.

Head Chef Peter Thomson said: “I wanted to create a Mediterranean inspired menu with the best seasonal produce, offering fresh, vibrant dishes from a broad spectrum of countries. We’ve had some amazing feedback so far and we can’t wait for the launch.”
