From next week a free St Patrick's Day trip to Ireland could just be a phone call away for people in Glasgow!

O’Neill’s in Glasgow is teaming up with Guinness in the week leading up to the big day to give their guests a chance to join in the craic in the heart of the Irish capital.

All week long a mysterious green phone box will take pride of place on the bar of O’Neill’s Merchant Square.

Guests will need to listen out for when the green phone rings and keep their fingers crossed that they have the luck of the Irish. The first to answer the call will win a mystery prize, including an overnight stay for two in Dublin, with a tour of the Guinness Storehouse thrown in to complete the Irish experience.

Lucky guests will also be in with a chance of winning tons of other prizes including rounds of pints and merchandise from the likes of Jameson’s, Magners, Tullamore Dew and Chieftains.

To add to the St. Patrick’s Day experience selected O’Neill’s Merchant Square will also have a Ripples ‘STOUTie’ machine installed for a limited time only.

The machines, usually only found in Dublin, will give guests in Glasgow the opportunity to enjoy a picture-perfect pint of the famous black stuff with their own selfie printed onto the head.

Ciaran Cunningham, general manager at O’Neill’s Merchant Square, said: “St Paddy’s is our favourite day of the year and there is always great craic here at O’Neill’s. This year we wanted to push the boat out and paint Glasgow green by giving away some really exciting prizes.

“We’d encourage everyone to join us here to make this year the best St. Patrick’s Day yet - and remember that if the phone rings, it could be Ireland calling!”
