Princes Square announces opening of new menswear store

Princes Square is delighted to announce a new store opening - Glasgow independent lifestyle store, Ryan James Studio, will open on the ground floor of the iconic shopping centre this Saturday!

Founded by James Rennie, Ryan James Studio was launched in Winter 2016. Rennie graduated in 2009 and started working part time with Ted Baker in Princes Square. He moved to London where he worked for Selfridges as a Visual Merchandiser before moving on to be VM at Karen Millen in 2011. Rennie also held positions at Oasis and was Visual Manager at House of Fraser, London Victoria, before moving home to Glasgow to launch Ryan James.

Rennie’s regular travels to New York made him fall in love with the boutique culture and the unique, personalised shopping experiences on offer so he decided to create his own company that offered male shoppers something fresh.
Each season, Ryan James curates clothing, accessories, grooming products and homewares to create a capsule lifestyle collection reflecting client’s needs.

Ryan James Studio’s aim is to give men of all ages and body types the confidence to discover their own style. They offer a curated range of new labels and products from UK and Europe, as well as personal styling and events. The store will be exclusive stockists of Far Afield and Edmmond Studios and will feature amazing local brands including: Dear Green Coffee; Alexis Basso Ceramics and Botann.

Commenting on the opening, James Rennie, owner, Ryan James Studio, said: “I’m really excited to be opening our new store in the iconic Princes Square. My retail career began here and now I am opening up my very own store - it’s a dream come true.”

Katie Moody, Princes Square, commented: “We’re thrilled Ryan James Studio is opening. The brand already has a great following in the city and beyond and it sits well alongside the likes of Cos, Reiss and Ted Baker. We’re looking forward to giving shoppers an extra reason to visit Princes Square.”

Look out for regular Ryan James collaborations with other local businesses including workshops and events – from ‘make your own aftershave’ classes to new product launches.
