Digital DNA Glasgow 2022 will be hosted at the SEC on Wednesday, 28 September and is set to be a hub of innovation and collaboration for Scotland’s tech, digital and creative industries.

Digital DNA Glasgow will bring together the region’s leading tech talent, industry thought leaders, investors, multinational and local companies for a packed programme of learning opportunities, keynote presentations, networking, panel discussions and marketplace exhibitions.

Digital DNA Glasgow 2022 will provide attendees with insight and access to the latest innovations and trends from across the global tech ecosystem, encouraging them to collaborate and challenge conventional thinking and forge a network of ambitious and innovative like-minded individuals in an inclusive environment.

Expected to attract more than 1000 attendees from right across the Scottish tech ecosystem, organisers hope the first ever Digital DNA Glasgow event will inspire participants to uncover new opportunities for partnership within the sector, explore new career paths and help show businesses how they can use technology to grow.

The event’s diverse programme, which will include some of the sector’s most exciting talent and major employers, will be unveiled later this summer.

Attendees will be encouraged to immerse themselves in the Digital DNA experience and spend the day exploring what’s on offer in a way that’s unique and most effective for them, with free tickets available to secure now at: digitaldna.org.uk

The event will focus on multi-disciplinary collaboration and hopes to welcome the Scottish tech diaspora back to Glasgow to experience the vibrancy within the industry at home.

Digital DNA Glasgow 2022 is organised by Northern Irish media, publishing and events company Digital DNA who have been running the conference in Ireland since 2013, growing from a one-day event with 200 people, to a two-day multi-discipline event with more than 3,000 attendees. Digital DNA Belfast has grown into the largest gathering of the tech ecosystem in Northern Ireland and has helped support the growth of the regional ecosystem into one of the most vibrant and exciting in the UK and Ireland. The organisers intend on replicating this successful formula in Glasgow and to provide the vital social infrastructure for the rapidly growing tech and digital ecosystem across Scotland.

Digital DNA CEO Simon Bailie said: “We are incredibly excited to be bringing Digital DNA to Scotland for the first time this September. Glasgow has a long history of innovation and creativity and is ripe to become a thriving nerve centre for digital technology and start-ups.

“We know the tech sector has a central role to play in contributing to Scotland’s economic recovery after the pandemic and we have seen first-hand the impact creating environments where people can connect with a community can have on the future of the sector.

“Digital DNA Glasgow will provide a landmark platform for the tech ecosystem in the city and wider region, breaking down barriers within the sector, showcasing the energy, talent and vibrancy of the Scottish digital scene and helping put Glasgow on the international tech map.”

The event is backed by the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council, who recognise the importance of supporting and accelerating a vibrant technology ecosystem in the city and beyond.

Economy Secretary Kate Forbes said: “This Digital DNA conference in Glasgow will add to the growing sense of momentum building around our efforts to make Scotland one of Europe’s leading start-up nations, as part of our national strategy to transform the economy, scale up businesses and boost productivity.

“The Scottish Government is supporting this event through our Tech Ecosystem Fund. In the last year, the Fund has given money to more than 30 different projects, helping create the best possible environment for Scotland’s start-up founders to succeed.

“Digital DNA is another significant addition to Scottish tech’s social network, helping create valuable opportunities for key players to come together, connect and exchange ideas.”

Councillor Susan Aitken said: “Glasgow has a growing reputation as an international centre of innovation and creativity and is now home to one of the UK’s largest digital tech economies. And of course, we’re known the world over for our ability to successfully host the big event. Digital DNA Glasgow will showcase to new audiences what this dynamic and fast-moving sector has to offer, the talent and opportunities open to the smallest start-ups through to global tech giants. This is the first time we’ve hosted a tech event of this scale and significance and Digital DNA Glasgow is a fantastic platform upon which we can build further success.”

Andrew Dobbie, Founder and CEO of Glasgow creative agency MadeBrave said: “An event like Digital DNA is exactly what Glasgow needs. Having a place for the creative, digital and tech world to gather, exchange ideas and learn from others on this scale will be invaluable to the ecosystem in Glasgow and beyond. The city is in a unique position to put itself at the beating heart of this forward-looking industry and capitalise on the talent and potential that’s waiting to be galvanised. We can’t wait to be part of this event and see the tech success stories that come out of it.”

Tickets for Digital DNA Glasgow 2022 are free and available to reserve now at digitaldna.org.uk, with a full programme set to be announced this summer.

Individuals and companies interested in exhibiting or speaking at the event can also visit the website for more information.
