Glasgow Life seeks views on reopening more community venues across the city
Previous let and leaseholders, local organisations and the public are being asked about their current and future needs to allow Glasgow Life to present options for reopening more community venues.

Earlier this year, Glasgow City Council allocated £1.1 million in its 2022/23 budget to support the reopening of community facilities operated by Glasgow Life which have remained closed as a result of the Covid pandemic.
Glasgow Life is contacting nearly 400 previous and existing let and leaseholders to gauge their interest in returning to venues.
The charity is also seeking the views of local citizens and groups, who are being asked to complete a short online survey which will help identify where current and future demand for community venue use is greatest.
Options are due to be presented to Glasgow City Council in early September outlining how the £1.1m funding could be spent.
Bailie Annette Christie, Chair of Glasgow Life, said: “When Glasgow City Council allocated money to Glasgow Life to reopen more community venues closed as a result of the pandemic, it was with the request that communities and users would be consulted about future delivery.
“Gathering this information will help to identify future demand for bookings and lets across our community venues. It will be used to inform options for the Council to consider how and where to focus its resources to ensure they continue to have the greatest benefit to local communities.
“We will be submitting these options to the Council in early September and any decisions regarding the reopening of more community facilities will be made at a future Council committee meeting.”
