Curated in partnership with leading independent radio station, Clyde Built Radio, and dubbed the ‘Heverlee Mixer’, the five-day pop-up will be free to attend and gives a platform to the city’s most exciting electronic artists.
Celebrating Glasgow's vibrant music scene, and fostering musical discovery, the curated lineup will feature genres ranging from Italo Disco and Reggae, to the sounds of Belgian New Wave - hailing from Heverlee’s spiritual home. The exciting lineup includes Rubadub DJ's, Vixen Sound and Sebastian Swarm.
Host venue, Stereo, has been popping off in Glasgow’s City Centre since 2007, with its notorious live music, comedy, and club nights. Within the space, Rubadub will have a pop-up store selling vinyls curated in partnership with Clyde Built Radio - and a bespoke listening booth in the space will allow you to ‘try before you buy’!
The event also promises to discover new talent in the city. Each takeover will have a number of ‘open mic’ slots available for amateurs who want to showcase their DJ skills in front of a live audience. To get involved, creators are encouraged to DM Clyde Built one of their sets to be in with a chance of playing on stage.
Hazel Alexander, Brand Manager at Heverlee, said: “Our mission as a brand is to encourage discovery – whether that’s trying an interesting new pilsner, or delving into a new musical genre. The Heverlee Mixer embodies this mindset.
“Together with Clyde Built Radio, we wanted to put on a string of events that allowed music and beer fans to enjoy a diverse and original array of artists, along with a quality pint. And, to ensure that this discovery goes beyond the four walls of the bar, we partnered with Rubadub to sell records from emerging artists.”
Andrew Thomson, Founder of Clyde Built Radio, said: “It was a real pleasure helping to curate artists for the Heverlee Mixer. The Scottish music scene is vibrant and full of outstanding artists, so we’re really excited to get the events underway.
“We’ve got a solid variety of our favourite DJ's, record shops and collectives playing across different genres each evening at Stereo – so I’d encourage any music fans in the area to get themselves along!”
What’s more, music fans will be able to redeem a free pint upon entry to the Heverlee Mixer. Flyposters with QR codes will be dotted around Glasgow - and a quick scan could redeem you a pilsner upon entry!*
The Heverlee Mixer events are free to attend and will take place from Wednesday 12th October until Sunday 30th October, across Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dundee.
Stereo. Wednesday 19th Oct – Sunday 23rd Oct. Weekday: 6pm – Close. Weekend: 2pm - Close.
