Plot twist debut novel by local author releases next month
Local author Breea Keenan's debut novel Plot Twist will be launched by a leading London-based publisher on 28th March.

Described as a 'pitch-perfect, heart-warming and hilarious Scottish and Irish romantic comedy', and an 'irresistible page turner', the novel is perfect for fans of Catherine Walsh, Annabel Monaghan and Emily Henry and is brought by Headline Accent, part of one of the UK's biggest publishing groups, Hachette.
Scottish actress Joy McAvoy, known for roles in TV series Two Doors Down and films The Angels' Share and Avengers: Endgame, will narrate the audiobook.
The story centres around main character Becca Taylor, who joins fellow writer, Riley O'Connell, in the Irish countryside to work on their novels together, despite never meeting in real life. But happily-ever-after isn't quite so simple, as Becca discovers Riley is not the sensitive female romance writer she assumed. With their complicated pasts getting in the way, Becca and Riley just can't get on the same page. Can fate give their love story a rewrite?
Breea said: “I'm excited to work with Headline Publishing to present my debut novel, Plot Twist, to contemporary romance readers.
“I started writing stories from a young age, eventually pursuing a degree and career in journalism and communications and penning poetry and children's picture books. As a working mum, I encourage my three children to follow their dreams, so I took a leaf out of my own book to fulfil my ambition of writing a full-length fiction novel.
“My inspiration for Plot Twist came from working with an online writing group. We shared plans, writing extracts and details of everyday life, even though we had never met, just like Becca and Riley in the book. Once I started writing, I had to see if there was a 'happily-ever-after' at the end.
“With its Scottish and Irish setting, two places that are close to my heart, I hope Plot Twist appeals to readers looking for escapism, laughter, and love, with a few emotional twists and turns along the way.”
Breea is originally from Shawlands and now lives in Busby with her husband and three children. She is represented by literary agent Julie Fergusson of the North Literary Agency.
