Looking to kickstart your fitness goals for the new year? Glasgow’s leading running club, Solemates, is marking its first anniversary in style by teaming up with Granary Quay—a modern riverside, build to rent development —to host a unique social run club and coffee morning this January.
The event, designed to bring people together in a fun and active way, will take place on Burns Night, Saturday, January 25th, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Granary Quay at Glasgow Harbour. The collaboration is inviting anyone down to join a hosted walk or run led by Sole Mates organisers Lisa and Mark, followed by a relaxed community coffee morning featuring complimentary coffee, pastries, and tours of Granary Quay’s stunning apartments and facilities.
Solemates Run Club began last year when fitness coaches Lisa Miller and Mark Williams wanted to create an inclusive community and a new social running club. After a successful 12 months the club has grown from 2 to 200 and takes place every week. The new anniversary collaboration will see the club run a new route for its members at Glasgow Harbour.
Hannah Currie, General Manager at Granary Quay, said: “This January, we’re excited to partner with Solemates Run Club for a Saturday morning 5k here at Granary Quay. Whether you’re an experienced runner or just looking for a fun way to get active, this event is a fantastic way to start the year, meet new people, and explore our amazing facilities and apartments.”
Solemates co creator, Mark Williams said: “Lisa and I started Solemates with the goal of building a welcoming and inclusive community. I only began running about 18 months ago, and it inspired me to create a space where people could connect, improve their mental and physical well-being, and discover the joy of running together. It’s been a fantastic journey so far, and we’re thrilled to see how much our community has grown, alongside our fitness clubs. Solemates is open to everyone, so if you’d like to join us, just find us on Instagram!”
Granary Quay is redefining modern urban living, offering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all residents, including their pets. With a dedicated pet-friendly floor and hypoallergenic materials throughout, the development ensures comfort and convenience for all.
Located in Glasgow Harbour, Granary Quay boasts 342 thoughtfully designed studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments—many with breathtaking waterfront views. Residents enjoy the choice of furnished or unfurnished options, alongside an impressive range of onsite amenities, including a gym, fitness studio, and stylish communal spaces. These facilities are curated to encourage social interaction, relaxation, and the best of city-centre living within a vibrant community.
Granary Quay’s dedicated onsite team goes beyond just managing maintenance queries, regularly organising social events and activities to build a strong sense of community and enhance quality of life.
