As the desire for more meaningful travel continues to grow, Crossbasket Castle, one of Scotland’s most enchanting five-star estates, has unveiled a series of beautifully curated tranquil escapes, designed to inspire restoration and self-reflection in the most serene surroundings.
The holistic programme offers guests the chance to step away from the everyday and find a sense of calm. Whether visiting for the day or staying overnight, each experience invites a meaningful pause: a rare opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and instead breathe, reflect, and reconnect in the beauty of nature and heritage.
Crossbasket Castle’s wellness series begin with full-day retreats on Wednesday 27th August and Sunday 21st September. Guests will be welcomed with herbal teas or a light spritz before easing into a thoughtfully paced day focused on movement, breath, and restoration.
The morning includes guided journalling, breath awareness, and gentle yogic movement, followed by yoga nidra to encourage deep rest. Lunch is served at Crossbasket Castle’s Foveran’s restaurant, featuring a light and nourishing menu designed to complement the retreat’s focus on balance and wellbeing.
In the afternoon, guests will explore grounding techniques and yin yoga, followed by an introduction to the Wim Hof breathwork method. A meditative sound bath brings the experience to a calm and reflective close.
For those seeking a deeper immersion, Crossbasket Castle will host its first-ever overnight retreat – Fire & Ice Luxury Wellness Retreat from Thursday 2nd to Friday 3rd October. Thoughtfully designed to encourage rest and renewal, the experience invites a slower pace and deeper connection.
Each stay begins with a welcome to one of the hotel’s new luxurious bedrooms, where a curated hamper awaits. Tailored Yoga sessions combined with intention setting are just part of the first day’s programme. As dusk falls, the evening unfolds with guided meditation release and breathwork sessions before guests will experience the uplifting power of a Release and Let Go fire pit ceremony before enjoying Herbal teas and healthy bedtime snacks in the main Castle’s Stewart Room - to ease both mind and body into a peaceful and restorative rest.
Guests will wake up the following morning to an energising sunrise yoga session, followed by an introduction to Wim Hof breathwork and an endorphin releasing ice bath experience – all led by experienced and qualified instructors.
Throughout the stay, nourishing menus crafted by the castle’s Executive Chef will support gentle detox and renewal.
Crossbasket Castle’s one-day wellness retreats start from £95 per person, with luxury overnight retreats from £395 (based on two sharing a room).
Crossbasket Castle will also host its third creative art workshop on Thursday 23rd October, perfect for those looking to explore their artistic flair. The Handmade Journals workshop offers a unique opportunity to craft and sew personalised art journals under the expert guidance of therapeutic artist Kim Flower.
Set in the elegant surroundings of Trocadero’s Terrace, overlooking the castle’s pristine gardens, this session beautifully combines books and art to create a calming and inspiring experience.
All materials are provided, along with tea, coffee, and a delicious two-course lunch served with a glass of house wine at Foveran’s restaurant, making it the perfect blend of creativity and relaxation. Workshop places start from £80 per person.
