Art Exhibition and Fashion Sale to Support Strathcarron Hospice Strathblane artists Chris Mumford, Amy Ricketts, and ceramicist George Thom are set to captivate the community with a charity art exhibition this weekend, aiming to raise funds for Strathcarron Hospice, Denny.
The free event will take place on Saturday, October 25th, and Sunday, October 26th, at The Village Club in Strathblane, from 10am - 4pm.
Following the success of last year’s exhibition, which raised over £4,000, the organisers are determined to surpass this achievement. To support this goal, a high-end fashion sale of preloved clothing will be organised by local fundraisers Margaret Vass and Sue Rand, held in The Reading Room of The Village Club.
Each artist has generously committed to donating 50% of their sales to the charity. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in an exciting raffle featuring prizes such as artworks, whisky from Glengoyne, gifts from local shopkeepers, gift vouchers from Woodlane of Doune and vouchers for the Kirkhouse Hotel.
The exhibition not only aims to showcase the artistic talent of local artists but also to foster community spirit and involvement. By utilising the beautiful Village Club, the organisers hope to create a vibrant atmosphere that encourages participation and support for Strathcarron Hospice.
The Village Club in Strathblane was gifted to the residents of Strathblane and Blanefield by the shipbuilder Alfred Yarrow in 1911 and is still a hub of the community to this day.
