Hoops & Crowns Workshop

Join Polly and Sarah for an afternoon of hula hooping and flower crown making at Munn Hall, Newlands South Church on Saturday 16th July!

Hoops & Crowns Workshop

About Hoops & Crowns Workshop

The afternoon will start with creating a beautiful dried flower crown, using British grown florals and foliages. Sarah will guide you through the process, and will be on hand throughout the session to make sure you leave with a gorgeous crown, that will last for several years.

We’ll take a short intermission for some light refreshments (BYOB is welcome), an opportunity to snap some photos of your lovely flower crowns and a short performance from international hula hoop artist, Miss Polly Hoops!

For the second part of the workshop Polly will take you through the basic elements of hula hooping, where you will learn a trick or two. There will be plenty of time to practise your new hula hooping skills before Polly closes the session with a relaxing stretch sequence.

About Sarah:
Sarah fell in love with flowers when she was fourteen and her love has only continued to grow! She loves to demystify floristry for beginners, and help people learn new skills and techniques that they can use at home.

Rook Botanics began as an antidote to the last couple of years. Sarah wants to help bring beauty, laughter and flowers into everyone’s life.

About Polly:
Queen of all things cabaret, Polly is a Glasgow based Hula Hoop artist, and Level 3 Personal Trainer. She brings a huge amount of energy and sass to her workshops.

She has been performing and teaching Hula Hoop professionally for over a decade. Polly’s ethos is to empower people with movement and to help them move in ways that feel great to them.

Location:
Taking place in the Munn Hall at Newlands South Church, a light and airy room overlooking the White Cart Water. There's free on street parking for those wishing to drive. Alternatively, it's a two minute walk from Langside train station, which is on the Cathcart circle.

Spaces are limited to ensure each person receives plenty of guidance from Sarah and Polly. Absolutely no experience of floristry or hula hooping is required! It’s suitable for all bodies and capabilities. This will be a relaxed and informal event for you to learn new skills and have a giggle.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us on rookbotanics@gmail.com We’re happy to answer any and all questions or worries!
