Fun for all the family!
Never tried trapeze? Keen to have a go at acrobalance? Now's your chance to do this and so much more at Aerial Edge's Open Day with FREE sessions in aerial and acrobatic arts including trapeze, aerial hoop, silks and rope – and the exciting flying trapeze! On the acrobatics front, you can learn balances, flips and tricks as well as trampoline and teeterboard – a giant people-launching see-saw!
You’ll be amazed what you can do in just one lesson at Aerial Edge. Glasgow's circus school has always been dedicated to developing people through circus, so instructors are experts at encouraging confidence and other life skills along with circus abilities – it’s all done through having fun, and anyone can do it, regardless of age, experience, body type or other factors.
If you're already fit and strong, the imaginative instructors will make sure you find all sorts of new ways to challenge your body using the circus equipment. If you've never enjoyed the gym or fitness classes, this could be the approach that's been missing from your life. It all begins at whatever stage YOU are at, depending on what YOU want. Because circus is about creativity, anything is possible.
The iconic organisation, founded in 2007, is celebrating its survival after a challenging period. Aerial Edge has been closed since November 2020 because of covid, then became homeless with the announcement in April 2021 that Kelvin Hall was being redeveloped as a film studio. The new venue marks the start of a new era.
As a social enterprise (a CIC, Community Interest Company), Aerial Edge is determined to make circus accessible to all so now, like a phoenix out of the ashes, the stalwart teachers are finally able to welcome you to a new venue at Edmiston Drive, just off Paisley Road West, between Cessnock and Ibrox.
So drop in to give it a whirl, any time between 12pm and 4pm on Sunday 17th July at Unit 12, Edmiston Trade Park, 240 Edmiston Drive, G51 2YU. If you have any questions, you can WhatsApp 07360 546 232, email info@aerialedge.co.uk or see www.aerialedge.co.uk
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
