Breathing is of the most paramount importance in Yoga and in life.
The science of Pranayama has been researched for so long now its evidence is clear cut on health benefits from even a very short daily practice routine. In can help fight against modern disease, digestive problems, Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Insomnia, Fibromyalgia, ADHD, Hypertension, Diabetes, Thyroid problems, Hyperacidity. All of which can be brought under control by the right balance of breath-work practices. In Yoga shastra it mentions Asana or physical Yoga in 1 or 2 times then dedicates a good 16 – 17 points to the benefits of Pranayama …. The fourth limb of Yoga. Pranayama is a balancer for your internal system , it will regulate and bring all your systems under control and into harmony. Leading you into the higher states of sensory withdrawal with ease on a path to meditation. It will help with purifying the cells and it can rid the body of disease…..it completes the goal of Yoga …..to control the Chitta (fluctuations of the mind) …..the mind is calm….. it has the ability to change the brainwaves to calm…..to slow down the sympathetic nervous system and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system….. the mind becomes a happier place ……this tool of scientific research is the way forward in this western world of stress induced diseases……. We can learn how to in this breath master class and we can learn why. Some practices are good for specific cases. So if you would like to learn some more and use this in your own life come and learn how to and feel the changes for yourself.
Part 1 is the essence of breath work. We understand the 3 body types according to Ayurveda ( Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and we understand some laws of correct breath work approach and we experience how to do everything in a systematic approach. It will bring a sense of calm to the body and the mind and reduce the high emotions and stress.
Part 2 is about diseases of Vata ..the people who have air element dominant in the body according to Ayurveda, suffer more from being cold, having dryness or hair and skin and bones, suffer muscular pain, nervous disorders and so on ….breath work and diet can balance and offset the effects bringing them a much more desirable environment.
Part 3 is about diseases of Pitta …the people who have more fire element dominant, A type personalities, hypertension, acidity problems, inflammation and menstrual irregularities….it also affects oily teenage skin and hormones and is higher in pregnancy, menopause and puberty…..so we can learn again through diet and breath work how to offset the dis-ease …and bring nurturing and ease once more.
Part 4 finally addresses Kapha dosha where people have more earth element present and suffer from fluid retention problems, sluggish digestion, coolness in the body, congestion in the tissues and especially the lungs. In this session we will again address the issues in this body type and give solutions to help with diet change and breath work. Bringing lightness and happier sense of self for these conditions.
