Perhaps you have been sewing for a while, you’ve completed a few sewing patterns and you’re interested in learning how these patterns are created. Let us show you how!
In this introduction to pattern drafting class we will use your own measurements to create a basic bodice block which will then form the basis of all your top patterns going forward!
Pattern cutting is sometimes mistaken for cutting up a commercial pattern but it is in fact the name given to making the 2D patterns from scratch. You use a series of calculations and formulas to come up with pattern pieces that when sewn together create a garment that fits your body perfectly.
Our tutor will take you through each step in creating your own personalised pattern block before testing it out and making a toile. You will leave with a better understanding of the basics of pattern cutting and how to create your own patterns from scratch. Pretty cool eh?
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
