Following the same course content as our Beginners Woodwork Course, this class is aimed at more marginalized genders who wish to learn new skills within a relaxed and inclusive space. This class will be led by our facilitator Anna (she/her)!
Hosted at our woodwork and upcycling hub at The Deep End, this 3 week course will teach you everything you need to know to safely and efficiently use tools such as saws, drills, hammers and sanders as well as teaching you basic joinery techniques and tricks!
Over the course, not only will you learn the necessary skills to tackle your own DIY/home projects and the importance of upcycling and sustainable design, you’ll also come away with either a bird box or a storage crate!
All materials and equipment are provided by us, so simply bring yourself and we’ll sort out the rest!
What you will learn:
Week One: Introduction to wood materials and processes. Demonstration of tools and materials, planning, measuring, sanding and drilling.
Week Two: Measuring and cutting wood to assemble your project.
Week Three: Assemble and finish your project along with sanding and surface treatment as needed.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
