Outdoor Drama and Performing at a Festival

Outdoor drama classes are a lot like indoor drama ones, but the floor is made of grass and the sun lights all our shows! Join What Happens Now? for their new term of classes!

Outdoor Drama and Performing at a Festival

About Outdoor Drama and Performing at a Festival

Our outdoor drama sessions are the perfect activity for kids but we offer two free taster sessions to give it a go before you commit to the full term! That's how confident we are that you'll LOVE it!

Whether they already love drama or are simply interested in making new friends, building confidence and having fun, these sessions are ideal! This term we have something really exciting for our 9-12s class - this term we are taking our performance to a FESTIVAL!

Positive Stories in Negative Times Festival!

I am thrilled to let you know about a fabulous project that our oldest class has been selected to be a part of! It's run by Wonderfools Theatre Company and is called "Positive Stories In Negative Times" (positivestories.scot).

Professional writers have been commissioned to write scripts for young people to perform and as a youth theatre you are invited to record them/perform them in any way you like - you can be as creative as you want to be! We have decided to work on our script 'Are You A Robot?' by the incredible Tim Crouch in class time and perform it to our grown ups on the last day of term (26th June) but also... we have been selected to perform it at the Positive Stories In Negative Times Festival! It's in partnership with The Gaiety Theatre in Ayr and since we are an outdoor theatre company we will be performing it on the BEACH! (Fingers crossed for dry weather! -It's all part of the joy of outdoor theatre!) Seriously though, it's a fantastic opportunity - a full weekend filled with drama workshops, performances and meeting new people from other drama groups. It really is epic!

I am so excited about this and already the young people, Fraser and Saffron have worked super hard. We were invited to a zoom chat with Tim Crouch this week and it was fascinating to hear him talk about his writing. He's such an inspirational writer and I feel honoured that we are able to work with his script.

The good news is we have a phenomenal cast ready to take on this challenge but the great news is we still have a few spaces for a few more cast members and we'd LOVE to open up this opportunity. Contact us today for more info!
