Guests at leading leisure and retail destination, Silverburn, can expect to see a super display over the May day bank holiday weekend as the centre hosts its Superhero Weekend.
Opening on National Superhero Day, Friday 28th April and running until Monday 1st May, the event will feature a display of replica statues of superhero favourites, as well as a silver age comic. The event will conclude on bank holiday Monday with a visit from Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity which will be hosting a craft station for kids to create their very own superhero mask.
In partnership with Cineworld, Silverburn will be giving visitors the chance to win tickets to the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, premiering on the 5th of May, by sharing a snap of their visit to the superhero statues on Silverburn’s Facebook page.
David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn, commented: “We’re delighted to bring our Superhero event to Silverburn this weekend and we’re sure the display and competition will be a big hit with our guests.
“However, we all know that not all superheroes wear capes and that’s why we’re proud to host Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity’s mask-making workshop this bank holiday Monday to help raise vital funds for Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.
“It’s primed to be a great bank holiday weekend here at Silverburn, and we look forward to welcoming guests of all ages.”
Silverburn is further marking National Superhero Day by showcasing the many discounts available in stores for NHS workers, carers, emergency service workers and members of the armed forces, as part of the Blue Light Card scheme. Find out more about discounts available here.
This is a free and non-ticketed event, although a donation of £3 is suggested for the mask making workshop.
