Invisible mending is also known as Swiss darning, a technique that rebuilds the broken loops in a knit structure to recreate the original finish. It’s a really lovely way to approach your repairs, but Swiss darning is no mean feat. However, with some practice and the right colour match, after this session, you’ll be able to start tackling your invisible mends at home.
This session will include practising on knit samples, which will be provided by, before working on your own items. Learning how to Swiss darn is perfect for those who have some understanding of knitting and darning already, however you really don’t need to be an expert to join in.
All fibres welcome and all equipment and materials will be provided by us! So all you need to do is bring yourself and the item or items you want to mend.
Cancellation policy: If you would like to cancel your place, we ask you to do so with at least one week’s notice so we can fill your spot in time. Any cancellations made within 48 hours before the session can not be refunded, instead your space can be transferred to another date.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
