JOURNEY TO THE EAST (JTTE) is Scotland’s premiere performance art and contemporary culture festival which centres queer, PoC and East Asian artists and artforms. The dynamic, eye-opening festival returns to Glasgow from 22 - 30 September 2023 for its highly-anticipated second festival edition, expanding its reach across the city with a weekend of live performances at CCA, Tramway and a week-long residency at French Street.
Highlights of this year's festival includes the very first Scottish performance from world-renowned Tokyo-based techno DJ ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U (Yousuke Yukimatsu), iconic and subversive performance artist Matt Mullican and New York based transfem-activist artist Keioui Keijaun Thomas.
