We are looking for adults and young people to attend the open casting call to be a part of our inaugural production in Glasgow’s Theatre Royal, The Sound of Music, in January 2024.
ADULT ROLES + ENSEMBLE (18+)
We are seeking ACTORS of age 18+ to star in lead roles, featured roles and ensemble. All roles are open and actors of all backgrounds, genders, and ethnicities are invited to audition.
Please note: The age ranges listed are the characters’ ages, not necessarily the ages of the actors.
Maria Rainer (belt/soprano, dance, 20+), Captain Georg von Trapp (baritone, moves well, 30+), Mother Abbess (legit soprano, wide vocal range, 30+, very strong actress), Sister Margaretta (mezzo, moves well), Sister Berthe (alto, moves well), Sister Sophia (soprano, moves well), Max Detweiler (tenor/baritone, moves well, 30+), Elsa Schraeder (mezzo soprano, moves well, 30+), Rolf Gruber (low tenor, dance, 17), Franz (non-singing, 30+), Frau Schmidt (non-singing, 30+), Herr Zeller (non-singing, 30+), Baron Elberfeld (non-singing, 30+), Admiral von Schreiber (non-singing, 30+).
CHILDRENS’ ROLES (-18)
We are seeking YOUNG ACTORS to star in the leading roles as the von Trapp family. Roles include Liesl (approximate age 16), Friedrich (approximate age 14), Louisa (approximate age 13), Kurt (approximate age 11), Brigitta (approximate age 10), Marta (approximate age 7), Gretl (approximate age 5). We may also cast the role of Rolf Gruber (low tenor, dance, age 17) from children’s auditions.
We require committed and enthusiastic young people with excellent singing, acting and movement skills but no experience is necessary to audition. We welcome applications from young people of all backgrounds including communities typically underrepresented.

With a combined two decades of experience and a portfolio of 60 productions across central Scotland, our dedicated production and creative teams infuse each project with enthusiasm and their unique creative vision.
