About Vintage Games Takeover
For one day only we are digging out the vintage games and taking over our cafe!
For gamers age 8+ .Book your ticket for our bumper 2 hour session where you will get to play classics such as Sensible Soccer, Paperboy, Robocop and many more all on original format. We will have the following machines set up:
Amiga 500
Amstrad CPC 464
Commodore 64
Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2
Plus a number of retro handheld machines and games from Tomytronic to Grandstand.
We will have a selection of original format cassette tapes and floppy discs for each machine so you will get the experience the full nostalgia of booting and loading the games from scratch. We will also have some BASIC coding worksheets to have a go on the C64.
WARNING: These machines will be running on CRT televisions which flicker and can cause seizures for anyone with sensory issues.
Due to the nature of these machines and games, we cannot guarantee that all the games will load and play smoothly, but staff will be on hand to help you out with any issues or questions.
This takeover event will be running in our cafe area only. By purchasing a ticket to this event you will not get access to our arcade area. We will also NOT have space in our cafe to sit and play boardgames etc on this date.
This event has been created for gamers age 8+ only, due to the nature of these older machines and wait times for loading etc. Kids under 12 years old must have an adult with them during the game session. This adult does not need to purchase a ticket but if they do want to join in and play, a ticket must be purchased for the adult.
As per our standard booking policy; we can only accept reschedules or cancellations up to one hour before your booking time begins.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
