Get ready to immerse yourself in Scotland's diverse culinary scene with the arrival of Scotland's LADHA 2024 on Saturday 27th April 2024. Pronounced "Larder," this festival promises to celebrate the rich tapestry of African and Caribbean food and drinks culture, welcoming all to join.
With funding from The Regional Food Fund, facilitated by The Scotland Food & Drink Partnership and supported by The Scottish Government, this ground-breaking festival marks a collaborative effort between Matugga Distillers, KnowVate Hub, and AndMunch. It aims to spotlight the flavours and styles defining Scotland’s African and Caribbean culinary scene, from traditional dishes to innovative fusion creations.
Featuring a diverse array of local producers such as Island Slice, Matugga Distillers, Rafikï Coffee, and Soul Food Sisters attendees will embark on a taste adventure through a meticulously curated medley of flavours. Whether it’s the warming spices of West African dishes, the soulful delights of the Caribbean, Scotland's LADHA will offer something to delight every palate.
Scotland's LADHA 2024 isn’t just about food; it’s a celebration of culture, community, and the connections that food fosters. From interactive masterclasses to tantalising tasting sessions and lively entertainment, attendees can expect a full day of culinary exploration and celebration.
“We’re thrilled to support our community members to deliver Scotland's LADHA 2024,” said Enoch Adeyemi co-founder of KnowVate Hub “This festival is more than just a culinary event; it’s a celebration of diversity, culture, and the shared joy of food. We invite everyone to join us for a day filled with delicious flavours, enriching experiences, and unforgettable memories.”
Fiona Richmond, Head of Regional Food at Scotland Food and Drink, added: “I am delighted to see Scotland's LADHA 2024 come to fruition. This festival is not only a celebration of the vibrant African and Caribbean culinary traditions but also a testament to the rich diversity and innovation within Scotland's food and drink industry. Through the Regional Food Fund, Scotland Food and Drink is proud to support such initiatives that promote inclusivity, cultural exchange, and the appreciation of food as a unifying force.”
