Vevar is Glasgow’s first micro handweaving mill in over 100 years, the only handweaving studio in Glasgow (there are now other studios) and the product of two award-winning weavers and designers, Christopher McEvoy-Barton and Chantal Allen. Vevar has developed from years of passionate interest in both woven cloth and the rich history of Scottish textiles.
Alasdair Satchel is a writer, broadcaster, actor and theatre and film maker; he has been a Glasgow Life Artist in Residence and is a fluent Gaelic and French speaker. A master storyteller, he is the founder of the podcast, What We Do In The Winter, which is listened to all over the world.
We’re very excited that Christopher, Chantal and Alasdair will be sharing their skills and talents in a series of free workshops and gatherings.
No experience or prior skills required – all welcome. No booking required – just turn up on the day.
Please email us at info@thepyramid.scot if you have any questions or want to know more, or just want to let us know you’re coming along – we hope you’ll join us!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
