Embark on an enchanting pottery journey with the talented Yasmine Gibson of Sayge Ceramics in this exclusive 3-part pottery wheel workshop at The Craft Pottery Studio!
About Summer Pottery Sessions: Pottery Wheel / Make and Paint Floral Motif Mugs
Designed for beginners, this immersive experience will lead you through crafting 3-4 wheel-thrown mugs, each adorned with floral motifs.
In the first week, delve into a two-hour introduction to throwing cylinder forms on the potter's wheel. Following a detailed demonstration, you'll have 1.5 hours to shape your own mug creations under Yasmine's expert guidance, in intimate groups of up to 6 participants.
Return the following week to master the art of trimming, refining the cylinders crafted in the previous session. You'll also have the opportunity to add pre-made coil handles to your pieces, adding a personalised touch.
During the final session, unleash your creativity as you complete and embellish your mugs with intricate flower designs using slip (coloured clay) and an assortment of flower stencils, lettering stamps, and decorative tools.
At the end of this short course, you can expect to come away with 2-4 handmade mugs which will be clear glazed, to appreciate your detailed designs. Pieces will be ready for collection 3-4 weeks after completion.
