You Don’t Know Me”, is the third full length recording from Heavy Drunk, the 11th from Rob Robinson. Rob has revived the big soul band featuring plenty of brass and soulful background. If you haven’t seen Heavy Drunk, you may have met Rob by the smoker at the original Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork. He owned the popular BBQ Joint, country store, gas station, and live music venue from 2008-2021. He’s laying off the smoker and once again collaborating with Grammy winner Casey Wasner. Casey manned the knobs and faders recording and mixing at The Purple House recording studio in picturesque Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee.
Roy Agee, Emmanuel Echem and Evan Cobb constitute the Heavy Horns blowing tone all over this recording. Brothers Ted and John Seigel of The Deltaz grease up the rhythm section with Alison Prestwood and Brian Allen switching out on bass. Kurt Stowe returns on blues guitar and Casey Martin holds down the keyboards. Etta Britt and Jackie Wilson are the sweet soul sisters touching up the background. Rob Robinson fingers flatwounds and sings lead vocals.
Rob wrote most of these tunes himself with a couple notable exceptions. The band also covers Taj Mahal and The Isley Brothers along the way. We think you’ll find the record soulful and warm and we hope you enjoy listening. Thank you.
