Ever fancied bringing your child to work? This event is the time to do it! This is a family-friendly event with a pizza pop up, ice cream, face painting and live demos from the emergency services.
What Can I Expect To See?
> Vintage Fire Trucks Display: Explore a fascinating collection of vintage fire trucks and learn about the history of fire services. See how firefighting equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) have evolved over the years.
Safety Demonstrations: Participate in live safety demonstrations that cover essential skills such as water safety, fire prevention, and CPR. Our expert firefighters will provide valuable tips to help keep you and your loved ones safe this summer.
> Commemorative coin unveiling: A commemorative coin celebrating the bravery of men and women of the Scottish fire service will be unveiled for the first time in the West marking the 200th anniversary.
> Bike Marking: Police Scotland will provide cycle security advice and offer security marking and registration onto BikeRegister’s online database
Meet Hamish the Friendly Fire Dog: Kids and adults alike will love meeting Hamish, the friendly and lovable Fire Dog. Hamish will be roaming the event for photos and fun interactions.
> Mangiamo Pizza Pop-Up: Savour delicious, freshly made pizzas from the Mangiamo pop-up stand. With a variety of toppings to choose from, there’s a pizza for every taste!
> Ice Cream Treats: Beat the heat with a refreshing ice cream treat from our local vendor.
> Face Painting: Let your creativity shine with face painting for kids and adults, our talented face painters will make it happen.
> Photo Opportunities: Don’t forget to snap a picture with our Fire Services’ friendly mascot, Hamish, or with one of our superhero services or trucks.
Do I need a ticket?
No! This event is free and open to the public! Donations to support the Scottish Fire and Rescue Heritage Trust are welcome and appreciated.
