Join Glasgow Sewist at Pollokshaws Community Hub for a three week block of sewing classes for beginners focused on reducing textile waste.

About Sewing Classes For Beginners

Over 3 weeks the class will create a basic quilted block, convert it into a cushion and finally construct a pouffe/ footstool shell which can be used for storing a duvet or stuffed to absorb unrecyclable textiles like pillows, worn clothes etc.

Skills learned:
• Sewing machine skills and good practices
• Quilting methods
• Cushion cover, make and apply piping and insert zip
