It will prepare you to identify stories in your community, pitch them to the media, and work with journalists to turn them into compelling articles. You will learn and develop your ideas during group workshops (in-person and online) and one-to-one sessions with journalists. You need a minimum intermediate level of English to take part. You don't need any journalism or media experience, but you should be active in your community and interested in changing the debate on migration in the media.
This course is free and open to everyone with the experience of migration (including those born in the UK with ancestry in other parts of the world). At the in-person session, we will provide refreshments and travel expenses for those unwaged.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
