Unlock the stories of the waters as you learn about the tales of engineering triumph, crime and more on this enriching historical tour. Tours will last approximately 90 minutes.
Chris O’Connell brings over 15 years of dedicated experience managing canal heritage, ensuring regulatory compliance, and engaging communities through historical research, public promotion of the canals, and archaeological projects, including working with volunteers on archaeological excavations. Prior to his canal work, he was a professional archaeologist working across Scotland, holding a degree in Archaeology from Durham University and a Master’s in Cognitive Evolution and Archaeology from Reading University, combining his academic expertise with practical heritage management.
