Bearsden and Milngavie U3A
About Bearsden and Milngavie U3A
Bearsden and Milngavie U3A is open to people from Bearsden, Milngavie and the surrounding area. There is no age limit, but activities are aimed at retired or semi-retired people who wish to share in educational, recreational and/or creative activities and companionship. The University of the Third Age is not a university in the traditional sense - it is the 'University of Life'. It is a nationwide organisation made up of independent local groups run on a voluntary basis by their members. No qualifications are needed to join and none are awarded. It is all about learning for pleasure and for fun!
Like all other U3As, we draw upon the enthusiasm, knowledge, experience and skills of our own members to organise and provide a wide range of interest groups and activities, including art, history, science, dancing, literature, walking, outings, genealogy, photography, cycling, languages and many more. Most groups meet during the daytime but there are also evening visits to the theatre and opera.
There is a monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of every month at 11 am in St Andrew’s Church Hall, Bearsden. Visitors are welcome to attend to find out more about the U3A.
