We are delighted to announce the four exciting new productions that will make up our 2023 Summer Season.
The first half of our season showcases our commitment to offering audiences the chance to see Shakespeare’s plays brought to life by incredible casts in unmissable new performances.
JULIUS CAESAR - Shakespeare’s electrifying political thriller, will open our season outdoors, in a compelling new production directed by our Associate Director, Jennifer Dick, placing the audience in the heart of the action.
HENRY IV - Adapted from Shakespeare’s Henry IV Parts 1 & 2 by Artistic Director Gordon Barr, who also directs. This captivating historical and personal drama will be performed by just four actors, in the magnificent surroundings of the Kibble Palace.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the iconic Kibble Palace opening to the public in Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens. We are celebrating this occasion with two Victorian favourites, brought bang up to date in our signature Bard in the Botanics style.
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST - Directed by Gordon Barr, will see Oscar Wilde’s irresistible comedy brought to riotous life outdoors in a theatrical rollercoaster of shade, wit and vibrant characters.
JEKYLL AND HYDE - A new play, based on Robert Louis Steven’s gothic thriller, written and directed by Jennifer Dick. This chilling tale of public respectability masking inner corruption will be performed in the intimate playing space of the Kibble Palace, by three members of our immensely talented ensemble.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
