Flip Out, Glasgow’s 63,000sq ft indoor inflatable and trampoline arena, has re-opened with a comprehensive safety, hygiene and cleaning plan. The much-loved leisure attraction is also offering visitors a discounted price with a standard jump reduced from £11 to £8.
The re-opening has been months in the planning and closely follows Scottish Government Covid-19 guidance for the tourism and hospitality sector.
Before entering the building, all Flip Out staff will have their temperatures checked and will wear personal protective equipment (face masks and gloves) throughout their shift. Perspex screens have also been installed in reception areas.
The building will have a limited capacity and an advance booking system, which will give customers the security of a ‘track and trace’ system. On entry they will join staff for a new safety briefing, which will include social distancing and other Coronavirus-related advice.
Multiple hygiene stations have been put in place around the arena and face masks are provided for those who need one.
Enhanced cleaning measures are also in place, with the arena and equipment monitored throughout the day.
“We have building up to this for months now,” said George Gallacher, general manager at Flip Out Glasgow. “We’ve been desperate to see people back in, being active and having fun, but safety is our top priority.
“We have a new staff safety policy in place, which starts before we even enter the building at the beginning of our shift. We’ve thought very carefully about social distancing and talk customers through our safety plan and general advice when they arrive.
“People will be encouraged to use the new hygiene stations regularly during their visit and we have significantly increased our cleaning schedule, making sure that areas and equipment are checked regularly throughout the day.
“Everything is in place and we are ready to go.”
Many of the main attractions and play areas have re-opened at Flip Out Glasgow, although, due to social distancing restrictions foam pits, inflatable and soft play areas remain closed. The Ninja Warrior course, parkour area and upstairs café will be open, offering visitors plenty of options for Flip Out fun.
George continued: “We will continue to follow Scottish Government guidelines and hope to fully re-open all remaining attractions in the coming weeks.
“It’s been a long and difficult summer for everyone and we know that people are desperate to get back out and get active again. But we understand that they want to feel as safe as possible. We have made every effort to do that.
“We can’t wait to welcome back all our regulars and see some first time flippers in the weeks ahead. We’re urging everyone to book in advance and not just turn up on the day, as capacity is reduced.”
Existing guidelines remain in place for customers with dwarfism, Downs syndrome, who are pregnant, are currently wearing a plaster cast or who exceed 125kg. Anyone who could be affected by this are asked to contact the centre for pre-screening information.
The Flip Out Glasgow website also allows customers to check availability and book tickets in advance, click here for further information.
