After what has been a very difficult year for small businesses across Glasgow a brighter future awaits them with the return of one of Glasgow’s favourite markets - Super Market Events - and it has a very special new home.
To fit in with the centenary celebrations of The Barras - celebrating Margaret "Maggie" McIver founding The Barras exactly 100 years ago as a place to provide small entrepreneurs of Glasgow with a place to sell to the public - Super Market Events is popping up alongside the Barras Market traders in its new home - Barras Art and Design.
Barras Art and Design is a beautiful atrium space located within The Barras Market and this Sunday (11am - 5pm) will be filled with some of the very best small businesses in Glasgow and Beyond. With jewellery, art, fashion, skincare, vintage, kids fashion, vintage clothing and a whole host of food & drink there really is something for everyone - entry is free and the venue is dog friendly.
Kelly Conway who runs Super Market Events says: “Glasgow is very fortunate to have such an amazing small business community and many people have supported them online during what has been a very difficult year - however nothing beats meeting & shopping with them in person.
It is an absolute honour to call The Barras our home - even more so with this being the 100 year celebration! The Barras is such an exciting area and the history of the area is inspiring for small entrepreneurs and we are excited to be a part of the areas future.”
