Available from today, the stylish Kelvingrove Café has taken everyone’s favourite summer cocktail - the Paloma and created signature twists on this Tequila-based serve for August only.
Their exciting new menu is fashioned on an old record cover with five delicious Paloma cocktails available for a limited time. Soundtracking these perfect summer serves, the bar is also set to host an exclusive Paloma Playlist evening to finish their Paloma month celebrations on August 25th with Glasgow music scene stalwart Craig Moog spinning tunes from his unparalleled record collection. The music has been chosen specifically to help you enjoy each serve with a multi-sensory experience.
The exclusive Paloma Playlist event will also include food from Exile Cooks from Kelvingrove Cafe’s kitchen and their innovative limited edition Paloma cocktails. Running from 7pm until late, entry is free but will be on a strictly first come first serve basis and is expected to sell out very quickly.
On the menu at Kelvingrove Café you’ll find a punchy Dovetail, made with PATRÓN silver, lime juice, chartreuse and ginger beer. And the must-try Blackbird with PATRÓN Reposado, sherry, Belsazar Rose and aphrodite bitters.
PATRÓN Paloma is a classic citrusy cocktail that combines premium PATRÓN silver tequila with grapefruit soda for a light and refreshing summer drink.
The Paloma is the national cocktail from Mexico and full of sweet, bitter and zesty flavours that you’d expect from a summer drink. Little is known about its history, some believe it takes its name after an 1860s folk song called ‘The Dove.’ The drink itself is credited to Don Javier Delgado Corona, owner and bartender of La Capilla, in Tequila, Mexico.
Lauren Doherty of PATRÓN said: “Leading the celebrations for PATRÓN Paloma Month, we’re excited to partner with Kelvingrove Café to offer a new way to celebrate Mexico’s national cocktail.
“The Paloma is definitely enjoying its moment right now in the UK with a 54 per cent increase in popularity this past year alone. Make sure you enjoy the drink of the summer before it’s too late in the stylish surroundings of Kelvingrove Café, and come along and help us party at the Paloma Playlist.”
Mal Spence, Drinks Strategy at Kelvingrove Café said: “Paloma Month is our third activation of the year and brings together three of our favourite things at KC. Great cocktails, great music and great tequila.
“We’ve been really excited putting together this month with our partners at PATRÓN Tequila, and can’t wait to celebrate it with our guests with some good tunes and banging cocktails.”
PATRÓN Paloma Month runs throughout August at Kelvingrove Café and encourages guests to enjoy the tequila category in a new and refreshing way. Guests can book the Paloma Playlist event on August 25th by heading to www.kelvingrovecafe.com
