IRN-BRU is on the hunt for Scotland's funniest folks, challenging budding jokers to make one of the nation's most hilarious comics laugh in a truly BRU-nique venue as part of Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
Award-winning comedian Ray Bradshaw will be the audience, and anyone whose gag gets a giggle inside a massive can of BRU will be able to learn from the greats with tickets to some of the most popular shows on the festival line up.
Coinciding with their announcement as an official partner of Glasgow International Comedy Festival, Ray will host IRN-BRU's 'Canned Laughter' Club in Central Station, hearing some of the best jokes silly station-goers can muster and performing short impromptu sets.
Fizzing with fun, anyone lucky enough to visit the unusual venue and crack their favourite joke will be treated to an ice-cold can or the chance to walk away with tickets to rip-roaring and often sold-out festival shows including Stewart Lee, Fern Brady, and Frankie Boyle.
Adrian Troy, Marketing Director at AG BARR, said: “We’re really excited to be supporting Glasgow International Comedy Festival during its 20th anniversary year. IRN-BRU absolutely thrives on Scotland’s cheeky sense of humour so we fully expect some of the jokes offered up at our venue to be top tier!”
With a history of producing some of the funniest adverts to ever grace our screens, IRN-BRU is supporting the 19-day festival which boasts 380 shows at 37 different venues across the city.
GICF Director, Krista MacDonald said: “So many comedy greats have come out of Glasgow, and the Glasgow International Comedy Festival has often been an important platform for up-and-coming talent. That's why everyone should take a chance on a show this year as you might end up in the audience of the future Kevin Bridges or Billy Connolly.
“We're so excited to work with IRN-BRU who have a long history of bringing out the funny, and we can't wait to see how many Glaswegians can make Ray laugh.”
The Canned Laughter venue will be open from 11am - 7pm Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th March.
Performers from all over the world will be entertaining fans at Glasgow International Comedy Festival between March 15th and April 2nd.
