Friday the 13th, considered unlucky by some, is being celebrated this year by Spooktacular, Scotland’s favourite Halloween event, who are offering all those named ‘Jason’ free admission to the fair on this Friday, October 13th.

Friday the 13th is the famed American horror film franchise that focuses on the main character Jason Voorhees and is continuously hailed as one of the greatest - and scariest! - Halloween films of all time.

Zoe Taylor, Operational Manager of Spooktacular comments: “The Spooktacular team love a scary film - it comes with the job! We conducted a poll across the team and Friday the 13th was pronounced our favourite film!

“I know some people consider Friday the 13th to be somewhat unlucky but Scotland’s Jason's can rejoice this year with free entry to Spooktacular on Friday 13th!”

The first 100 people to each session with Jason as their legal first name just need to present themselves at the ticket booth on Friday 13th and show their valid ID to enjoy free entry to Spooktacular and its range of spine tingling rides!

Friday the 13th also marks the first day of Spook Week where Spooktacular will be open for two sessions per day; 12-4pm and 5-9pm for the duration of the school holidays.

Spooktacular is now in its third year and after electrifying success of past events, they promise another sensational event for the spook-tastic season, bewitching all the family in the Green Car Park at Silverburn. Fun and frolics for thrill-seekers are expected with a wide range of exciting rides, a Spooky Silent Disco, photo opportunities and fang-tastic food options.

Spooktacular tickets give visitors unlimited access to over 15 rides for the duration of a four hour session alongside access to the photo opportunities, food and drink, paid games and attractions. As well as the Spooky Silent Disco - brand new for 2023!

Unleash your Halloween spirit with our top attractions!

Unearth the chilling thrill of the haunted Tagada this Halloween! Step into a cursed spinning bowl where thrill-seekers grip bars instead of restraints and dare to be jolted by its ghoulish, unpredictable where fear meets fun.

Prepare to soar like the night's creatures on the Speed Buzz. Dive, flip, and whirl through the chilly Halloween night air. Do you dare to conquer the sky's thrilling mysteries?

Whisper your darkest wishes if you dare speed up the pace! The ghostly Waltzers will whirl you into a bewitched daze, making your heart yearn for another haunted spin. Dance with shadows as you glide and bump in our phantom Dodgems, or rise to eerie altitudes aboard our Moonlit Ferris Wheel, where ghouls await at the pinnacle

What Halloween event would be complete without a Ghost Train, diving into the dark where phantoms and spirits linger, awaiting thrill-seekers at every shadowy turn. Do you dare to face the mysteries that lurk in the dark?

Jumpin’ Frogs, Miami Trip, Superbob, Twist, Matterhorn and Paratrooper are also rides to look forward to at Spooktacular.

The family friendly event has plenty for Little Pumpkins to enjoy, perfect for keeping everyone entertained during Spooky season:

Venture onto the Haunted Runaway Train ride, where phantom locomotives speed through the cursed tracks, leaving a trail of chills in their wake.

The forbidden Big Apple Coaster offers little Pumpkins a spine-tingling introduction to roller coasters. Watch as the phantom caterpillar slithers around the haunted undulating tracks, but will it feast upon the cursed apple?

You can even jump around the ghosts and ghouls on the Bungee Trampolines, or visit the Mini Chair-O-Plane, packed with spooky activities and entertainment that everyone will enjoy.

Other haunted attractions not to be missed: Pony Express, Teacups and Toyset. Get ready for spine-tingling excitement at Spooktacular!

Height restrictions apply to all rides. Please note organisers reserve the right to change the line-up of rides without prior notice. Any ride or attraction may be closed or removed, under repair or unavailable any time due to operational reasons.

Ticket prices are based on height rather than age, meaning if you’re tall enough to ride everything then you’ll need a different ticket to those who aren’t.

All tickets booked for a specific session and day are non-transferable and non-refundable. A limited number of tickets may be available on the door, subject to availability, however we expect days to sell out.

Tickets purchased on the day of your visit will be charged at the on-door price. To book tickets with the discounted online price please book online a minimum of 4 hours before your visit otherwise the on-the-door price will be applied.
