Glasgow Taxis Cup returns in March
The annual one day multi-sport event, Glasgow Taxis Cup, will see 700 student athletes from Glasgow Caledonian, Strathclyde, and Glasgow universities competing across 17 sports!

The Glasgow Taxis Cup has more than 700 student athletes from Glasgow Caledonian, Strathclyde, and Glasgow universities competing across 17+ sports in 21+ events, in the biggest one-day student inter-varsity competition across Scotland. Last year’s winner Strathclyde will try to defend their title.
Now in its twentieth prime year with event sponsors Glasgow Taxi Ltd (supporting the occasion since 2011). Examples of sports within the competition are Athletics, Basketball, Rugby, Cross Country, Fencing, Snowsports and now with the latest of addition of Powerlifting!
The event will take place on Wednesday 26th March 2025 at a multitude of venues across the city throughout the entire day. The winners of the 16+ sports and the overall winning university will then be announced at Scotstoun Sports Campus from 5.45-7.00pm. Glasgow Taxis Chairman Dougie McPherson said: “Once again Glasgow Taxis are proud to support our city’s universities in this year’s event.
Sport plays such an important part in peoples lives on many levels, and the positivity surrounding the Glasgow Taxis Cup is palpable.”
