Free pumpkin decorating workshops return to GlasGLOW
The countdown to GlasGLOW is on and organisers at itison are kicking off free family-friendly pumpkin decorating workshops this Thursday, in the Children's Garden at the Botanics.

The seventh year of GlasGLOW launches on Friday 25th October running through til the 10th of November – peak slots for the first two weeks are sold out with limited availability remaining for the final week. This year’s theme is Trick or Treat with 10 exciting realms waiting to be discovered.
GlasGLOW’s free pumpkin workshops will be hosted by the pumpkin carving experts from CLAASH Pumpkins, who create all the show pumpkins for GlasGLOW, from 11am – 3pm in the Children’s Garden in the Botanic Gardens.
Here’s all you need to know before you GLOW:
GlasGLOW’s free pumpkin workshops take place on Thurs 17th, Fri 18th, Sat 19th, Sun 20th, Sat 26th & Sun 27th October between 11am – 3pm
The Pumpkin decorating fun takes place in the Children’s Garden in the Botanics every day except Sat 26th’s session which will take place in the stretch tent on the main lawn
The events are totally free with no need to book – all you need to do is bring yourself and your pumpkin decorating A-game
You can choose to take your pumpkin home with you or put it on display at GlasGLOW for tens of thousands of visitors to enjoy as part of our annual Pumpkin Patch
The events are part of The itison Pumpkin Fund which has raised over £80,000 for local charities and community groups since it was launched back in 2019
Last year, £20,000 was raised at GlasGLOW and this year, organisers are aiming to raise even more
All pumpkins featured in the Pumpkin Patch are recycled into food waste and turned into fuel to help power the city
Every year, the Pumpkin Patch at GlasGLOW is one of the most popular features of the show and is also open to enjoy for free during the day from the 25th October – 10th November.
Creator of GlasGLOW Oli Norman said: “Every year, our free pumpkin decorating workshops with CLAASH Pumpkins are a huge hit and we’re delighted to bring them back this year for local families to enjoy.
“The response to this year’s Trick or Treat theme has been incredible and we can’t wait to open the gates of the Botanics for this year’s show. Limited tickets are remaining for the final week – get in quick if you don’t have yours yet.”
GlasGLOW, which has been rated 5 stars by tens of thousands of families up and down the country and sells out in advance every year, is created and produced by Glasgow-based company itison together with a world class team of sound, light and set designers.
The show brings together amazing immersive sound and light displays, unreal photo opportunities, a gourmet street food village and loads of interactive moments.
The itison Pumpkin Fund will also return helping good causes around the Botanics. Since launching in 2019, it has raised over£80,000, donated 8,000 free tickets and thousands of pumpkins to local communities, hospitals and charities to help as many people as possible enjoy GlasGLOW.
Now coming into its seventh year, GlasGLOW is the biggest Halloween event in the UK creating 150 event sector jobs and a multi-million pound impact on the local economy.
