Soft, flaky and golden buttermilk biscuits. Crispy fried chicken. Rich country gravy. The perfect runny yolk. This weekend, Birds is launching a new Southern-style brunch menu at Phillies of Shawlands, and it’s everything comfort food should be.

Kicking off this Saturday 19th July, ‘Brunch at Birds’ will be available every Saturday and Sunday from 11am–3pm, bringing a dose of laid-back, American-style indulgence to the Southside. With big plates, bold flavour and unlimited coffee refills!

At the heart of the new menu? Proper Southern biscuits. Baked fresh in-house, Birds’ biscuits are buttery, layered, and just the right side of crisp - made to soak up their rich country style gravy or sweet-and sticky hot honey.

Each plate is stacked with: Crispy buttermilk fried chicken, a perfectly fried egg, freshly baked biscuits. Topped with your choice of house-made country gravy or Piggy’s hot honey. Vegetarian? There’s also a meat-free gravy option that hits just as hard.

It’s comfort food with substance - cooked from scratch, no shortcuts, and plated up in true Birds style. This isn't a bottomless brunch soundtracked with pretentious jazz or 90-minute limits. It’s brunch with delicious food at the centre - warm, inviting and extremely tasty!

Pitchers of Bloody Marys and Mimosas are also available for the table, while locally roasted filter coffee with free refills keeps things grounded. Bring your pals, bring your hangover, bring your appetite!

Birds Co-Founder Nick Watkins said: “We’ve wanted to do something like this for a while - proper Southern biscuits, cooked from scratch, served with fried chicken and traditional country gravy. There’s no breakfast menu like it in Glasgow, and it fits perfectly with the way we approach food at Birds: flavour first, no nonsense, just food that people want to come back for.”
